The Bushey Symphony Orchestra (BSO) has been redefining the perception of classical music for the last 50 years.
Conductor George Vass, described as “the saviour of contemporary classical music”, will be leading a special performance to honour this anniversary.
At the Clarendon Muse Concert Hall on Sunday, May 18, George will be joined by 35 professional, semi-professional and amateur musicians.
Featured in the concert will be Dvořák: In Nature’s Realm, Op 91, Grieg: Piano Concerto in A minor, and Schumann Symphony No 3 in E flat ‘Rhenish’.
The event will also mark the world premiere of the song A Flourish for Bushey, a piece commissioned by BSO and written by James Francis Brown.
Speaking to BUSHEYnews, George said: “We are really looking forward to it. At the start of the season, we entered into an exciting new period of the orchestra’s history. It is a real pleasure to work with such a fabulous bunch of musicians, and to share such fabulous music with our ever-growing audience. We’re hoping for a full house for this special concert.”
