EYES OPEN: Warning for motorists as car stolen after theft at Pinner gym

Published on: 2nd December 2019   |   By: Dean Shaw   |   Category: Uncategorized

A couple from Pinner are urging others to be wary of thieves after their car was stolen from outside a gym.

Danny Cazzato was exercising at Better Gym in Bridge Street when thieves took his belongings from his locker, including his car keys, before taking his Nissan Quashqui.

He had used a padlock, which also has a four-digit number lock, to secure his belongings in the locker but thieves still managed to break in before taking his bag and later his car.

His car was parked in the nearby Lidl car park.

The theft happened on November 18 at around 4.30pm and although CCTV shows a male suspect loitering near the changing rooms at that time no progress has been made in a police investigation.

As the gym offers day passes it means some people in the gym are unknown and on this occasion, it appears the suspect used a fake name and paid in cash to buy a day pass before targeting lockers.

The gym have told Danny and his wife Delia that they take no responsibility for what happened.

Delia told MyPinnerNews: “I just want to warn others to be wary even if they have used a padlock on their locker.

“I also urge those that use gyms to look out for others and report anyone that looks suspicious. Unfortunately, the gym doesn’t verify who they have in the gym so it makes the lockers an easier target.

“Danny has been using the gym for 20 years, so it is really disappointing.

“While there is CCTV of a man leaving with what looks like his bag it will be difficult for police to find the thief.”

Better Gym have been contacted but had not responded at the time of going to print.
