Chorleywood Golf Club is holding a Golf Day on the Common, on Friday, July 16, in aid of the new pavilion for Chorleywood Cricket Club and the charity Mission EmployAble.
Participants will play 18 holes (£160 + booking fee for a team of 4), with breakfast served on arrival from 8.30am followed by light lunch in the Clubhouse.
The Golf Club’s new Captain, John Lees said: ‘As a sport, golf is played while enjoying fresh air and the company of fellow players.
‘This event is an ideal way to get outdoor exercises after lockdown and this event is in aid of a building that will be a real asset to the whole community.’
John Lees has chosen Mission EmployAble as his Captain’s Charity of the Year and the Club is adding its support by offering a discounted annual golf club membership of £499 to anyone who joins by June 30, 2021 and will donate £50 to Mission EmployAble for every new member who takes advantage of this offer.
He said: ‘As the new Captain for Chorleywood Golf Club, I am delighted to choose Mission EmployAble as my charity this year.
‘We look forward to playing a small part in the fundraising for the new pavilion and to supporting the objectives of both Mission EmployAble and the Cricket Club.’
Non-golfers who prefer alternative exercise, there is a morning Pilates class via Zoom each Thursday in April, (£5 inc. booking fee) with proceeds going to Mission EmployAble.
