“EXCITED”: Tring Brewery to support mental health charity in 2024

Published on: 22nd February 2024   |   By: Darius Morgan   |   Category: Uncategorized

Tring Brewery has announced the local charity it will be supporting throughout 2024.

Each year, the town brewery selects a worthy cause to support throughout fundraising initiatives. Last month, they handed over a cheque worth more than £6,000 to their charity for 2023, Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital.

This year, they have teamed up with Berkhamsted-based charity Hector’s House to support its mission to reduce the stigma around mental health.

The charity was founded in 2016 in the memory of Hector Stringer, who took his own life aged 18.

Each of the brewery’s monthly beers will now be adorned with the Hector’s House official logo. The logo, a warm homestead surrounded by bold music symbols, commemorates Hector’s love of music and performing.

The initiative has extra significance to Tring brewer and Hector’s House ambassador Sam, who was close with Hector growing up.

He said: “Hector and I were best friends growing up and it was a huge shock when he took his own life. I have always tried to support Hector’s House where I can, from helping with their initial logo design, to using my role now at the brewery, to nominate them as our charity of choice for 2024.

“All of the team at Tring Brewery are excited to assist Hector’s House where possible. Our hope is to amplify the amazing work that they do for mental wellbeing in the local community.”

Robert Stringer, chairperson at Hector’s House, said: “We are enormously proud to be supported by Tring Brewery for 2024. Not only are we close to them geographically, but also personally. Members of the team there grew up with Hector, have supported the charity since its inception, and the Stringer family since our loss. This is another way in which we can continue Hec’s legacy, while providing support to our local community.”

Alongside special beer releases, Tring Brewery will raise vital funds through members’ events, an online raffle and further yet-to-be revealed ventures.
