The founder of a Radlett Scout group has been recognised by the High Sheriff of Hertfordshire Annie Brewster for 50 years of service.
Simon, who set up 4th Radlett Scout Group in 1983, has expanded the group to include an active Beaver Colony, Cub Pack and Scout Troop led by dedicated volunteers who run weekly meetings during term time and organise events and camps.
In a post on X, the High Sheriff said: “Special well done to Radlett founder and legend, Simon Pyzer (50-plus years’ service) on receiving the Silver Wolf, the highest award in the Scout Association for services of the most exceptional character.
“So many young lives you are all positively impacting. Thank you. Forget BBC Strictly, you were the stars of Elstree tonight!”
Simon was also congratulated by Radlett Reform Synagogue, who said on Facebook: “A big mazal tov to our member, Simon Pyzer, for receiving the Silver Wolf, the highest award in the Scout Association.”
