A local mum of two has won an impressive award after she pivoted her small business during lockdown to help her son who struggled with eczema and dry skin.
Stina Cannon from Pinner scooped up a prize for her business Juste Nature’s Unscented All-In-One Moisturising Balm in the Family Skincare Category at the tenth annual European Free From Skincare Awards.
Juste Nature Owner, Stina Cannon said: “My first Skincare Award came as such a big surprise after just over one year of trading during the pandemic. The competition was tough, to be amongst big and well-known companies across Europe too. It is such an honour to have a product win Silver in The Free From Skincare Award.”
The Europe-wide Awards were founded to encourage and reward manufacturers of skincare products that are ‘free from’ many of the allergens, preservatives, additives and fragrances associated with skin sensitivities, allergies, and ethical, environmental and health concerns.
Stina explained the motivation behind her new business, which she kickstarted during the pandemic: “Years of struggling with my son’s allergies, eczema and sensitive skin was the reason why I started my Natural Skincare Formulations. I wanted to find a natural and organic alternative to his medicated balms that were thinning his skin.
“Juste Nature was born out of Love for my family and the environment. As a Fashion Designer pivoting my business and starting all over again was a scary and risky route to take. But I knew that I could help more people struggling with the same skincare issues as my family. 2020 has been challenging for many of us but it has also given many women and mothers like me the opportunity to start our small businesses.
You can also find Stina and Juste Nature’s products at the Ruislip Duckpond Market every other Sunday.
