Étienne Capoue has been named the 2018/19 Graham Taylor OBE Player of the Season for Watford.
The French international was presented the award by Graham Taylor’s grandchildren at the Watford End of Season Awards last night at Wembley Stadium.
Speaking at the ceremony, Capoue said: “I love my club and I love the fans.”
It wasn’t just Capoue’s name in the headlights as Ben Foster won Players Player of the Season and gave the audience an insight in his role on away days.
The keeper, who won the Goalkeeper of the Year at the London Football Awards in March, joked that the reasoning for him getting the votes by his teammates was because he buys all the sweets and crisps for the coach trips.
He also thanked his team for the votes and said: “I know it’s cliché, but it really is a team effort.”
Semi-final hero Gerrard Deulofeu scooped up two awards for his performance at Wembley as he won Goal of the Season for his delightful chip under the arch and Individual Performance of the Season.
19-year-old Domingos Quina also won Young Player of the Season.
Lets hope that the team get the major award on May 18 and bring the FA Cup back to Vicarage Road.
