Residents are being urged to prepare themselves for an epic Santa Dash for a charity with a shop in Pinner.
St Luke’s Hospice, which has a shop in Bridge Street, is doing its sponsored 5K Santa Dash so that participants can help raise money for its selfless work.
St Luke’s Hospice looks after people in Harrow and Brent whose illnesses are no longer curable.
The event on Sunday, December 8, which starts at Nower Hill School on George V Avenue, Pinner, invites runners to take part with your friends, family, colleagues or you can even bring your dog.
Included in the price of your ticket is your Santa suit (if required), mince pies, hot drinks, carol singers, a medal on completion and more. The dash begins at 11am.
St Luke’s relies on dashers’ generosity for over two thirds of all its funding to continue to deliver free care for local people, both now and in the future.
If you manage to raise £160, the hospice can fund a nurse for two days, providing expert care for patients in its In-Patient Unit.
If every walker did the same, that would cover the costs of nurse care for over 5 years.
