EPIC ETHAN: Rickmansworth boy wins first national tournament in electric kart racing

Published on: 30th November 2022   |   By: Bryn Holmes   |   Category: Uncategorized

A Rickmansworth boy in his first year of electric kart racing has won his first race in the sport- at a major championship no less!

Ethan Lloyd, 7, managed to pick up the top prize at the recent Total Karting Zero, 2022 Regional Championship: National Final, at Rye House circuit in Hoddesdon.

It’s an extraordinary achievement for Ethan, having previously placed second and third in races so far in his maiden year as a driver.

He won all three of the races he competed in, performing well in the first two heats and then, despite the pressure, keeping his cool to achieve an outstanding 20-second lead in the final.

Ethan qualified for the final through being one of the 12 fastest drivers in his age category in the racing series he is a part of.

Currently, Ethan is entirely self-funded, so he and his family are appealing to any local businesses which wish to sponsor him and help him get the best chance of future success. To follow his journey on Instagram, go to @ethans_drive4thechequeredflag .
