For many, boxing is about more than just keeping fit; it’s a chance for community, connection, and positive mental health.
A charity founded by a boxing legend from Garston is helping to keep this legacy alive by donating £110,000 worth of equipment to boxing clubs across the country.
Founded by former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua OBE, Clean Herts Community aims to support and uplift people through a range of initiatives.
Last month, the charity, together with African Caribbean Exchange, announced its donation of boxing equipment in support of women’s boxing and Men’s Mental Health Month.
Posting the news on Instagram, Clean Herts Community said: “Here’s to empowering communities, supporting mental health, and growing the sport we love.”
Earlier this year, the charity launched boxing lessons in Lagos, Nigeria, as part of a partnership programme combining sports with life skills.
This follows on from the charity’s free boxing classes held at the Meriden Community Centre.
