A local charity harnessing the power of music to challenge perceptions brought their inspiring message to a Chorleywood school last month.
Electric Umbrella, alongside Hertfordshire Police, gave a memorable performance to Year 8 students at St Clement Danes School on Friday, October 17.
Members of the charity performed their new song, It’s Not a Crime to be Different, which was written to mark National Hate Crime Awareness Week.
The students also heard messages about respect, inclusion and standing up to discrimination.
Assistant headteacher Miss Ramsbottom said: “It was a powerful way to reinforce the importance of empathy and inclusivity. Electric Umbrella doesn’t just talk about acceptance; they bring it to life.”
It’s been an incredible year for Electric Umbrella. They recently performed It’s Not a Crime to be Different in front of 10 Downing Street to spread their message of inclusion and acceptance.
Earlier this year, they achieved national fame after receiving the Golden Buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent.
