Two men, including one from St Albans, have been charged after 19 people were injured in a crash at a cruise event in Stevenage last year.

Dominic Brown, 21, from Park Street Lane, St Albans, and 21-year-old Julian Castano-Perez from Fitzwalter Place, Dunmow in Essex, have been charged with eight offences of serious injury by dangerous driving and 11 offences for wanton/furious driving.

They have appeared at Stevenage Magistrates Court and will next be before St Albans Crown Court on August 3.

Police were called to Monkswood Way in Stevenage at around 9.45pm on July 18 last year (2019) to reports that two cars, which had been driven at speed in the area, had collided and subsequently hit crowds which had gathered to watch.
