Kings Langley FC Under 14s girls were crowned cup winners in their first major trophy last month.

The girls won the Hertfordshire Girls Football Partnership League (HGFPL) and remained undefeated throughout the competition, with the final taking place at Metropolitan Bushey on Saturday, May 7.

The team worked hard for the Under 14s senior league.

The team won 1-0 in the first half of the game but fell 2-1 at halftime. The girls rallied to tie the game at 2 all. The game then proceeded to penalties, where the goalkeeper produced several outstanding saves and won in sudden death.

A coach from King Langley football club to the venue, was arranged for the team and the club’s manager Richard Harvey described the atmosphere on the after the game as amazing.

He said: “The girls were ecstatic with the results of the game.

“They worked really hard this season, we only had a minimal amount of players signed off the week before the season started, so we got off to a slow start and then we got a few more players in and we did really well.”

The club have reached forth in division one of the HGFPL “which is an achievement in itself,” Richard says.
