The Easter Holidays are set to be packed with adventure and discovery for children at the home of living history, Chiltern Open Air Museum (COAM).
An Easter trail across the 45-acre site, where mini super sleuths can practise their detective skills is just one of a host of new activities victors can enjoy over the school holidays at COAM, the museum where history comes alive. There are nine newly installed larger-than-life willow animal sculptures to hunt down, plus pony rides and baby lambs due. A visit to COAM is a perfect screen-free day out for all the family.
The main event at Chiltern Open Air Museum is always the 37 historic buildings on site that youngsters can explore in the fresh air. Covering local history over the last 2,000 years many of the exhibits are decorated with original fixtures and fittings. There are even authentic costumed volunteers on hand to answer children’s questions helping them to understand what it was like to live in the past.
COAM General Manager, Helen Light said: ‘We are very excited for the Easter holidays this year. We have added new activities and attractions for visitors to enjoy, along with new and excellent catering facilities.
‘Terrific Tuesdays are extra special with expert lead craft sessions all day for kids to try out including pottery. Plus, storytellers and other fun and games all day long. Happy tired children are guaranteed!’
