Issues with drug use and anti-social behaviour have been reported in Chorleywood in recent weeks.
Multiple canisters of nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, have been found littering the area, while there has also been minor damage to woodland.
Posting on Facebook, Chorleywood Parish Council said: “If you go down to the woods today… you might just find some evidence of anti-social behaviour.
“Our Rangers found evidence of nitrous oxide abuse in Grovewood earlier, along with some damage to the trees there which are subject to a Tree Preservation Order.”
Nitrous oxide is classified as a class C drug and it is a criminal offence to be found in possession of the drug for recreational purposes.
Those found in unlawful possession face an unlimited fine, community punishment or caution. Repeat serious offenders may face a prison sentence of up to two years.
If you see any suspicious behaviour, you can report this by calling 101 or visiting www.herts.police.uk
