Berkhamsted FC has got off to a dream start to the new campaign with a second win of the season over Bedford Town.
Strikers Lewis Toomey and Jonathan Lacey seem to be the perfect attacking partnership as they put The Comrades 2-0 up in the first 15 minutes.
Lacey crossed from the left flank to the near post where Toomey slotted the ball past Bedford keeper Aaron Dillon. Three minutes later a sweet freekick from 25 yards out looped over the wall and striking the post after Dillon’s hand manages to touch the ball.
Shortly before the break, Bedford gave away another freekick. Max Farrelly latches onto a mistimed save from Dillon and slides the ball into the back of the net.
The final goal in the game for The Comrades came in the 69th minute as a drop ball fell to Jonathan Lacey who fired the shot past Aaron Dillon to finish the game 4-0.
Up next Berkhamsted travel the short distance to Wembley on Saturday, August 24 for their first FA Cup tie against Wembley FC in the preliminary rounds.
