A school in Croxley Green has unveiled its spectacular new buildings as part of a multi-million-pound development project.

The new buildings opened at York House School last month as part of a £3.5million project which saw the development of a new theatre, classrooms, changing facilities and more.

The new state-of-the-art buildings will help keep up with the growth in pupils at the school, allowing them to benefit from high-quality learning spaces and new co-curricular opportunities.

Jon Gray, headmaster said: “Opening the new building development has been a wonderful addition to the new school year and we are very much looking forward to seeing our children make the most of these amazing surroundings and the opportunities they will provide in the future.”

Mr Gray added that it has been great to see pupils enjoying the multi-tiered performance theatre with glass walls for music and drama and the new double-height music room.

He said: “We have been waiting in anticipation for our new facilities to open and it has been fantastic to see the reaction from our pupils.

“There are huge smiles on faces and there has been a real buzz around school. In addition to the creative arts facilities, we have four new changing rooms and a tiered performance area, which we have also used this week for house meetings and assemblies.

“The double-height music room is simply stunning and I hope it will also increase the visibility of the subject.  Having a light and airy space to practice and perform in, has certainly been well received by our budding young musicians.”
