Two Watford organisations, Raise, a West Herts Hospitals charity, and the Watford and District Mencap Society have partnered up with Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care UK to receive a donation of £1,000 to benefit specific keyworker projects.

The ‘Support Our Superheroes’ Campaign by Bushey-based Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care UK has also teamed up with Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice in Barnet for their essential work for those most in need during the coronavirus pandemic.

Ashwin Mehta, trustee of Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur UK and project lead commented: “We are delighted to support these incredible organisations who staff have been at the frontline during the worst of the COVID-pandemic making a huge difference to those in real need.”

Freya Hollingsworth, fundraising officer at Raise said: “During the COVID-19 outbreak West Herts Hospitals Trust (WHHT) staff have had to deal with further implications of the pandemic, causing further stress and impacting on staff mental health and wellbeing.

“We are very grateful to receive the support from the Shrimad Rajchandra, Love and Care UK team to further our work with Watford FC Trust. The funds will be going towards putting on a number of fitness classes with the goal to improve WHHT staff mental health and wellbeing”

The Watford & District Mencap Society will use their funds to provide staff with fresh new uniforms and self-care items such as thermometers and personal flasks.

Simon Evans, support manager at Watford Mencap added: “Our teams have worked tirelessly through the pandemic and thanks to them people living in our residential care homes and supported living projects have remained safe, active and happy.

“This generous offer from Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care UK will help us to show appreciation to the superheroes within our charity.”
