Dog walking group raise over £2,000 for charity

The Radlett Dog Walking Group raised £2,150 for the National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT) in Watford by completing a charity dog walk.

NAWT is a national animal charity which looks at rehoming all pets across their five rehoming centres across the south of England.

Radlett businesses donated raffle prizes and sponsors, with very generous sponsors or donations coming from local pet owners.

The Radlett Dog Walking Group has been running for two months and now has over 30 members.

A spokesperson from the group said: ‘’It means a lot to us that our small village have been so generous. Radlett dog walking group and the NAWT would like to thank the community for their support.

“The vast majority of donations came from Radlett dog owners, and it just really shows how many animal lovers the community has. I’m overwhelmed really.

‘’It will make such a difference this year to all the animals in shelters over the cold weather period.’’

The NAWT Watford, which is looking for volunteers, has recently opened a new onside café, which was opened by Holby City star Rosie Marcel.

With all proceeds going to the centre, why not pop into the NAWT Hertfordshire centre on Tylers Way, Watford-By-Pass, WD25 8WT.
