This historical photo shows a view of Chalfont St Giles High Street, sent by an anonymous resident.
Though the date of the postcard showing the photo is unknown, it does show the village’s large old elm tree, a telephone pole, and a road suitable for motor vehicles.
It also depicts several local businesses including H.W. Rance & Son poulterers and a small tearoom serving tea and refreshments.
