Emergency services were called to Grove Crescent in Croxley Green at 2.18am on Monday, June 29 following reports of a car on fire.

Police were initially called following reports that a man in dark clothing riding a Sur-Ron e-bike had smashed the window of a black Audi. When officers arrived at the scene, the vehicle had been set alight. Hertfordshire Constabulary is treating the blaze as a “suspected arson” attack.

The fire spread to a nearby blue Vauxhall Mokka and a white Fiat 500.

A spokesperson from Hertfordshire Constabulary said: “The local Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) will be carrying out additional reassurance patrols in the area, and anyone with concerns is asked to please speak with officers.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to report via 101 or online, quoting 41/60621/26.”

Two fire engines tackled the fire alongside three police vehicles.

A spokesperson from Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service (HFRS) told CroxleyNews: “Two fire engines from Watford fire station were sent to the scene, where crews found a car well alight at the side of the road.

“Firefighters extinguished the fire, which was all out by 2.32am. Nobody was hurt. The cause of the fire is being investigated this morning.”

So far no injuries have been reported and police enquiries are ongoing.
