‘DISTRESSING’: Appeal launched after victim assaulted by group of teenagers in St Albans

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault in St Albans.

The incident occurred in Clarence Park at around 6.40pm on Wednesday, June 14.

It is reported that a 16-year-old boy was approached and assaulted by five unknown teenagers. The victim was left with a black eye and scratches to his neck.

PC C-Jay Callaghan, who is investigating, said: “This was a distressing incident, and our enquiries are continuing as we look to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

“Were you in the park at the time and saw what happened? A number of parents tried to intervene and help the victim, and we are appealing for any witnesses to please come forward and speak with us.”
