Police are releasing a CCTV image of someone they want to identify following a theft in St Albans.

Between 11.15am and 11.30am on Tuesday, June 3, two people reportedly followed a woman around Waitrose on Ermine Close.

After the victim left the shop, she returned to her car and unloaded her shopping. As she then went to take the trolley back, she was distracted by one of the men.

A handbag, which included cash and debit cards, was then reportedly stolen from her car boot by the second man.

Officers are releasing the image because the person pictured is believed to have been in the area at the time and could have information to assist the investigation.
