‘DEVASTATING IMPACT’: Man charged in connection with burglaries across West Hertfordshire

A man has been charged in connection with a series of burglaries committed in Watford, Hemel Hempstead and Kings Langley since the beginning of the year.

Edmond Lleshe, 43, from Cambridge, has been charged with:

  • Burglary of a dwelling in Nascot Wood Road, Watford on Saturday, January 25
  • Burglary of a dwelling in Bushey Mill Lane, Watford on Thursday, January 30
  • Burglary of a dwelling in Silverthorn Drive, Hemel Hempstead on Saturday, February 1
  • Burglary of a dwelling in Hampden Way, Watford, also on Saturday, February 1
  • Burglary of a dwelling in Watford Road, Kings Langley on Wednesday, February 5
  • Going equipped for burglary on Thursday, February 20

He was remanded in custody and is next due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday, March 25.

The charges come after diligent work from Watford’s Local Crime Unit, supported by the Operational Intelligence Team, Mobile Scorpion Team, Operational Support Group, and Intervention officers.

Detective Sergeant Andy Metselaar, from the Watford Local Crime Unit, said: “We are pleased to have secured these charges, and we now await the outcome of Lleshe’s next court appearance. Burglary often has a devastating impact on its victims and can leave them feeling unsafe in their own homes. We are committed to identifying those who choose to commit this type of crime and getting justice for those who find themselves targeted.”
