Police are investigating a potential deliberate fire in Pinner after reports of a post van on fire.
Two Royal Mail vans have been the focus of a police investigation; one was severely damaged by a fire, and the other was found parked outside the Lidl supermarket on Bridge Street.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “At approximately 2.25am on Sunday, May 19, police were called to Bridge Street in Pinner having received a call from a member of the public reporting a Royal Mail van partially ablaze. Officers attended, along with members of the London Fire Brigade, who extinguished the fire. A second Royal Mail van was parked a short distance away, but this was found to be undamaged.
“The fire is believed to have been started deliberately, and enquiries are ongoing.”
Anyone who was in the area of Bridge Street at the time, and witnessed anything suspicious, is asked to call 101, quoting CAD: 827/19MAY24.
