Following the resignation of Northwood’s head coach Scott Dash after their 8-2 defeat to Chertsey Town mid-week, The Woods once again suffered another heavy defeat.
Northwood travelled to local rivals Uxbridge FC for the FA Trophy where they got off to a great start when Alex Witham put The Woods 1-0 up in the 10th minute.
He connected with a Trey Charles cross and tucked the ball neatly into the back of the net.
From there on the game went downhill for Northwood when three minutes later, Uxbridge’s Callum Bunting equalised after The Woods failed to clear a corner.
Just before half an hour into the first half, Uxbridge scored again after another defensive error from The Woods.
They failed to clear the ball and the Red Army’s Alan Hedley was able to finish it off.
Former Northwood player Mahlondo Martin was causing all sorts of problems for the away side as he played a crucial role in Uxbridge’s next two goals.
He was allowed a lot of space down the side to whip in a cross to Jack Beadle who made it 3-1 and Martin then followed his assist up to make it 4-1 with a spectacular 25-yard looping shot that keeper Rob Partington was unable to reach.
Next week Northwood will travel to Enfield Town for their Middlesex Cup match on Tuesday, October 15 in the hope that some good form will return to the club.
