Danny Green put the away side in the lead on 17 minutes after latching onto a driven cross by Nick Arnold.
The Stones could have made it two or three nil up by half time but strong defending from Chelmsford kept the score line at 1-0.
Wealdstone fan favourite Billy Clifford scored the second goal in sublime style.
The midfielder smashes a 30-yard free kick past goalkeeper Carl Pentney.
Captain Jeome Okimo, how made his first start for The Saints, scores from a Danny Green free kick which was headed on by Connor Stevens.
With three minutes to go The Clarets’ defender Dave Winfield who was the highest in the box to head home the consolation goal.
Up next for Wealdstone FC is an FA Cup tie against Maidenhead on October 19.
