Kart racing champion Ethan Lloyd, a 10-year-old student at Christ Church Chorleywood C of E School, secured a podium finish at the prestigious London Cup at Rye House Kart Circuit.

The young racer, who won the National Kart Championship cadet class this year, has moved to the challenging Intermax category for drivers aged 10 to 13. Karts in this class reach speeds up to 70mph.

Ethan showcased exceptional wet-weather driving skills immediately. He powered through the pack, crossing the line half a second ahead of his rival, securing a thrilling victory in his first Intermax race.

In heat 2, Ethan finished eight seconds ahead of the competition to claim his second consecutive win. Despite battling handling issues in the final race, he defended fiercely, bringing the kart home in third place.

Ethan took home a podium trophy for his debut, and his talent was recognised as he was voted Driver of the Day.
