Newly planted trees in Barton Way Green Space in Croxley have been damaged in a recent act of vandalism.
On Sunday, October 6, several residents woke up to discover that tree support poles had been pulled out and thrown into their gardens.
While thankfully no one was hurt, the situation could have caused serious injury.
Additionally, goalposts have been torn down and tossed into the park’s boundary.
The incident was reported to Three Rivers District Council and local police. A local dog walker later confirmed that they had seen the goalposts being pulled out.
Croxley Green Parish Council collected the stakes for safekeeping, and efforts are underway to repair the damage.
Green Party councillor Narinder Sian said: “It’s deeply frustrating to see such mindless damage to our green spaces. These trees were planted to enhance the environment for the whole community. This kind of reckless behaviour puts both residents and our parks at risk. We’re working with the council and local authorities to address the issue and ensure the safety of the space.”
