The chairwoman of Watford Borough Council councillor Dawn Allen-Williamson raised more than £6,000 through a charity walk last month.
On Saturday, September 14, cllr Allen-Williamson and a group of fellow walkers, including other councillors, took part in a sponsored walk in Cassiobury Park to raise money for her two chosen charities, Ngorli CIC and Manna Food Bank.
Ngorli CIC offers supplementary out-of-school tuition for youngsters from diverse backgrounds, and Manna Food Bank offers food support from Elim Church in Watford.
Currently, cllr Allen-Williamson has surpassed her initial target of £5,000, and so far has raised more than £6,000.
She said: “Thank you to all of you who have donated to the sponsored walk, thank you to all the sponsors and supporters. A big thank you to all fundraisers and to all my supporters who came on the walk with me, your time and effort is very much appreciated.”
