Reddiford School’s pupils and staff were delighted that their new school gym and specialist classroom building was ready for the start of the new academic term.
Darwin Group were able to complete it in time for the first day of term despite lockdown difficulties.
The chair of governors, Mr Graham Jukes OBE (pictured), conducted a ribbon cutting ceremony and said a few words to mark the occasion.
The head boy and girl (also pictured) read a moving prayer in which they gave thanks that the Reddiford community were able to join together again in celebration of this new building.
Mr Jukes thanked Mrs Batt, the headteacher and Mrs Shepherd, the Bursar, for their drive and enthusiasm over the last few years in ensuring that this project was completed for the new term.
The facility will be particularly useful for the delivery the school’s extra curriculum programme.
Sadly, it will be a little while before the school are able to reap the full benefits of the new building due to the COVID-19 restrictions on performing arts.
