A Radlett father and son duo represented the village on the international stage by bringing a special flag to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Siza Agha and his son recently returned from Doha, having watched several games, including Morocco’s shock victory over Portugal, the feisty battle between Argentina and the Netherlands, and England’s well-fought match against France.
At the England game, the pair took with them a St George’s Flag with the words ‘Radlett Rascals’ printed on it. The duo could be seen holding up the flag on the international TV broadcast, watched by millions of football fans across the globe.
Siza, who has been to several World Cups before, said the atmosphere at the tournament was unlike any other he had been to.
Speaking to RADLETTnews, he said: “In comparison to a lot of World Cups, it was a different atmosphere. They got a lot of things right, but they got a few things wrong, like they didn’t really account for extra time and penalties.”
