A road in Croxley has been voted the fourth best place in the country to raise a family, according to a survey calculated by a property website. Little Green Lane comfortably came inside the top five, finishing behind streets in Higher Whitley, Cheshire, Southampton, and Brentwood in Essex. The results were finalised by The Family Friendliness Index, calculated by Property Detective which examined facilities, schools, crime rates and other factors to come up with a list of the best areas for parents and children in England. Cllr Chris Mitchell, chairman of Croxley Green Parish Council, told My News that there are a whole host of factors as to why Little Green Lane and the village, in particular, falls inside the top 10. He said: “The result really shows that Croxley Green has a really nice balance of life. “We have excellent schools here, both primary and secondary, easy access to London with the tube and the proposed rail link and we are extremely close to some beautiful countryside here, such as woodland, open fields, rivers, streams and canals. “There was also a survey recently which shows that we are one of the most sought after places for commuters into London and these results are quite similar in terms of that.” For more on this read the next edition of My Croxley News out on October 9.
