The number of crimes committed in Croxley Green has slightly increased compared to the same period in 2016 CroxleyNews can reveal.
Under a Freedom of Information request to this magazine, it was revealed that the number of crimes committed between January 1 and December 1, 2017 in Croxley Green, Croxley Green North and Croxley Green South was 305.
That is an increase of 17 for the same period the previous year.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Neil Canning said: “Whilst Hertfordshire as a whole continues to experience relatively low levels of crime, having one of the lowest levels of recorded crime in the country, we do experience local crime hotspots and we are proactively tackling these problems and pursuing the people responsible.
“With regards to Croxley Green in particular we have done a lot of enforcement around drug activity in recent months which has brought crimes to light. We also had a spate of thefts of mopeds earlier in the year. Thanks to proactive patrols and crime prevention work, we managed to make some good arrests and make people more aware of keeping their vehicles secure.
“We have also seen an increase in the reporting of domestic abuse offences, as victims feel more confident in coming forward.”
