Published on: 17th July 2020   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

With gyms and sports facilities now given a confirmed reopening date from the government, Watford Mayor Peter Taylor will visit Anytime Fitness Croxley Park to see the ‘new normal’ for gyms as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Visiting tomorrow (July 18), the Mayor will be shown the tireless work the gym has done during the lockdown to make it safe for its members’ return. He will be shown first-hand the increased health and safety measures put in place including the strategic repositioning of equipment, booking system to control numbers, increased sanitisation stations and extra cleaning protocols.

Furthermore, with all members accessing the club via a unique key fob issued to them, the club is able to deploy an effective Track and Trace system in the unfortunate event of any COVID-19 cases in any of their members.

The club has been very active during lockdown to support its members with the provision of daily virtual classes, individual workout advice and access to the Anytime Workouts app which has more 1,100 workouts for users to try. Furthermore, after a difficult period for everyone, Anytime Fitness Croxley Park owner Peter Chapman is raring to reopen and show the club’s members that the gym is a safe place to be.

Peter said: “Lockdown has undoubtedly been a tough time but we’re looking forward to showing the Mayor the work we’ve doing and demonstrate we’re raring to go now we’ve been given the green light to reopen.

“Having his positive support will be great for our staff, members and the wider community to show that the gym is a safe and welcoming place to be and that they can feel comfortable in their surroundings.

“The staff here have been fantastic throughout this difficult time and as a community-orientated gym, we can’t wait to welcome our members back to both a safe and welcoming environment once again.”

With more than 165 independently owned clubs across the UK and Ireland, Anytime Fitness UK CEO Neil Randall has commended the great work that has been done by its clubs during the lockdown.

Neil said: “One of the main things we’ve continued to see during lockdown is our clubs’ genuine passion and consideration for their members. It’s been a challenging time for us all but Peter and his team are a shining example of how hard our gyms have been working to ensure both staff and members are kept safe when we’re allowed to reopen.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming the Mayor to Anytime Fitness Croxley Park and demonstrating all the hard work that has been done to provide the local community with a safe environment for them to enjoy their workouts.”
