Tring Brewery has raised more than £6,000 for a local wildlife charity through a year of fundraising activities.
Each year, the town’s iconic brewery selects a charity to support.
In 2023, the brewery chose Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital, a charity dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating all species of British wildlife.
Most recently, Tring Brewery teamed up with local soapmaker Nicky Gordon to create a beer-scented soap, with 100 per cent of the profits going to Tiggywinkles. The soap evoked smells of Side Pocket, the brewery’s foremost ale.
The brewery stated: “Drawing inspiration from the brewery’s amphibian mascot (Mr. Toad!), [we] teamed up with Nicky to create a special soap in aid of local wildlife preservation.”
Tring Brewery revealed to TRINGnews that sales of the soap generated £600. The brewery’s annual raffle raised more than £1,700, while more than £2,000 was raised in their inaugural Toadfest beer and music event in May.
Last month, the brewery donated a cheque for a total of £6,037 to the wildlife hospital.
A spokesperson for Tiggywinkles said: “We were really pleased to be chosen by Tring Brewery as their charity of choice for 2023. They are such a highly regarded local brewery and found such inventive ways to raise funds for us. It was a pleasure to work with them and the funds raised will make a huge difference to us. Thank you, Tring Brewery!”
