Come along and join the fun at the Abbots Autumn Fest, on Saturday September 22, on School Mead between 11:00am and 4:00pm.
There will be old fashioned games and events for all the family, including puppets, storytelling, coconut shy, children’s archery competition and beat the goalie.
See the honey bee display, and make a bug hotel.
Local food producers will be selling their fresh produce and local artisans will show their wares.
There will be live music, a licensed bar, stage entertainments, hot cooked food, teas & cake, a coffee wagon and a seating area to entice you to stay a while.
This annual event supports local small enterprises, charities and community groups.
Its focus is to foster sustainability, reduce the local carbon footprint and raise awareness of goods available locally, and is supported by many local groups and businesses.
Importantly, before the actual day there will be activities and happenings around the village!
There will be the annual children’s apple treasure hunt in the High Street businesses, from Friday September 7 to Saturday the 15th inclusive.
Just pick up a Competition Entry Form from Over the Moon or Abbots Langley Library between these dates, spot the apples on display within the businesses, answer the question found on the apples, and return the completed forms to either location by Saturday September 15.
Winners of the three age groups will be drawn at the Abbots Autumn Fest by the Chair of Abbots Langley Council, Councillor Brenda Kersey.
Scarecrows. Local junior schools are invited to make Scarecrows which will be displayed in the windows of local businesses.
But why not make your own family Scarecrow for display in your front garden? I if you don’t have space for one, let us know and we’ll find a place for it in the village.
If you contact the organising team on AbbotsAutumnFest@gmail.com we’ll supply an Abbots Autumn Fest Logo to attach to your Scarecrow.
