Councillor removed from committee following review

Published on: 7th March 2014   |   By: The Newsdesk   |   Category:

A village councillor branded a “habitual and vexatious complainant” has been removed from a Croxley Green Parish Council committee. My Croxley News revealed in April 2013 that Croxley Green Parish Council (CGPC) had held an extraordinary meeting to discuss the ‘conduct and behaviour’ of Cllr Rob Ridley, who was banned from the council offices for a second time and labelled a “habitual and vexatious complainant”. During a confidential part of the April meeting a complaint made against Cllr Ridley was discussed by other councillors, who resolved that the concern “constituted an unnecessary invasion of privacy”. A number of actions were agreed that Cllr Ridley should take “in restitution”. Following a review of the punishment at a parish council meeting on February 27, councillors agreed to remove Cllr Ridley from the council’s environment & amenity committee and to continue to regard him as a “habitual and vexatious complainant”. Cllr Ridley is also still banned from the parish council offices, except to attend council meetings. A CGPC statement read: “Members of the council were apprised of the fact that, since March 2013 when they agreed that Cllr Ridley was considered to be a habitual and vexatious complainant, his continued disregard for the Council’s policies, procedure and protocols continued to bring this council into disrepute and undermine all the good work done by his fellow councillors and the staff.” Read more in March’s My Croxley News
