PETITION’S PRIZE: New parking restrictions to be put in place in Moor Park after petition

New parking restrictions on a Northwood road look set to go ahead.

Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) launched a consultation after residents of Sandy Lodge Way submitted a petition calling for new restrictions.

Residents living in the upper section of the road were consulted on the changes, which are identical to ones already introduced by Hillingdon Council on the lower part of the same road.

No waiting restrictions would be put in place from 1pm to 2pm Monday to Friday. This mirrors Hillingdon Council’s current use of parking permit restrictions but offers a different approach to avoid the need for permits.

There will also be double yellow lines installed on the western section of Sandy Lodge Way, meaning no waiting at any time.

TRDC states that these measures are being put forward to prevent commuters parking on the road all day and to improve the general safety of residents, especially through barring inappropriate parking close to the northernmost bend in the road.

The road can become busy on weekdays due its proximity to local schools and the train station.
