Council called upon to solve parking problem

Published on: 8th March 2018   |   By: Jason Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

The manager of a business in Northwood says a longstanding parking problem is affecting trade for his business and others nearby.

Aaron Beckett works for Hob Salons on Green Lane and has a business parking permit. Public parking is available nearby for customers but Aaron told NorthwoodNews the two machines have not been working properly for over three years.

He said: “I get two or three clients coming in saying money has been stuck in the machine. Not everyone is aware that they can phone and register to get a ticket.”

Aaron has called on Hillingdon Council to resolve the situation as soon as possible.

He said: “The council tells me that someone comes and jams sticks down there. Someone comes and jams stick down there – that’s what the council have told me. They send engineer to empty the machine two or three times a day. The other day, one of my customers put their money in the machine and £8 or £9 came out

“I’d like to know what happens to that money and why the machines have not been fixed. There are cameras down there though I’m not sure why as they haven’t caught the person responsible yet.”

NorthwoodNews contacted Hillingdon Council but no one was available to respond.
