A group of 14 cottages on the site of Aldenham Country Park could be demolished, if a newly submitted planning application is approved.
Lister Cottages on Dagger Lane take up a 35-acre site on green belt land and is located on one of Hertsmere Borough Council’s (HBC) archaeological sites.
Until recently, the cottages have been used by their owners, Kedrion Biopharma (also known as Bio Products Laboratory), as apartment-style accommodation for staff.
The cottages have now been earmarked for demolition, alongside several mixed industrial and research offices and storage space for those facilities.
The developers’ cover letter reads: “The site is not located within a conservation area, nor are there any statutory or locally listed buildings within the site, nor does the site fall within the setting of any statutory or locally listed buildings.”
It is currently unknown if the cottages will be replaced with other buildings once demolition is completed.
To view the application, search reference number 23/1697/PD28O on HBC’s planning application website.
