Residents of a Chorleywood cul-de-sac have been left disappointed after plans for a new parking scheme were scrapped.
Commuters regularly park on Greenbury Close before travelling to work in London from Chorleywood station.
Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) had planned to introduce new parking restrictions on the road, but these have allegedly now been dropped.
Chorleywood North and Sarratt councillor Philip Hearn said: “The residents have been asking for new parking restrictions for years. The news that the plans have been shelved will be a bitter blow.”
A TRDC spokesperson said: “The decision to discontinue new parking restrictions in Greenbury Close was taken following the outcome of a public consultation which was carried out in 2022. Sixty per cent of respondents were against the proposal.
“All residents in Greenbury Close were written to again in May 2024 when the current consultation in other areas launched, advising them the proposals had been discontinued. However, residents were asked to write to the council if they felt strongly that some form of parking restrictions are still required in Greenbury Close. These responses received will be analysed over the coming weeks.”
