The Conservatives have retained their seats in Bushey Heath, Bushey North, Bushey Park and Bushey St James after the local election results for Hertsmere Borough Council were revealed last night. Brenda Ann Batten, Jane-Ann West, Ann Kathleen Swerling and Peter David Rutledge emerged victorious in the respective seats. Rosemary Elizabeth Gilligan, Conservative, won the seat in Shenley. There were 13 seats up for election in total with one winner per ward. The make-up of the council is now 34 Conservative, 5 Labour. The overall turnout for the Hertsmere election was 34.08 per cent
