Footballers across Croxley were celebrated last month as part of Croxley Green FC’s (CGFC) Awards Day.

The club which has hundreds of players came together at Rickmansworth Cricket Club on Sunday, July 25 to celebrate a season of achievements.

Several awards were given out on the day including Manager’s Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year, Top Goal Scorer and more.

Tim Craig, who manages one of the Under 9s teams, said hundreds of awards were given out on the day which brought the community back together.

He said: “For me it felt like with the community having been so challenged over the last 18 months with coronavirus, the day felt like a really good chance for many of us to come together again.

“There was a speed tunnel which meant the boys got a chance to kick a football into a device which tells you how hard you’ve kicked the ball. That was really popular.”

One of the coaches, Sean Barnett was also honoured for his outstanding contribution to the club with the ‘In memory of Colin Jackson Award.’

The Cherry on Top Art Academy were also in attendance at the event praised the energy felt throughout the day.

On their Facebook page they write: “It was an amazing day and the energy at the club was electric, so much talent and positive vibes I am still buzzing!”
