CONGRATS: Hertfordshire charity recognised with national trailblazer award

Published on: 7th December 2022   |   By: Holly Bullen   |   Category: Uncategorized

A Watford-based charity has received a national award for its efforts towards diversity and inclusion.

Herts Inclusive Theatre is an arts charity which aims to improve the wellbeing of people, particularly children and young people and those who are disadvantaged or disabled, by using the arts to build confidence and develop skills in an inclusive, fun, creative space.

After receiving an award for Diversity and Inclusion at the Inspiring Hertfordshire Awards in June 2022, the charity was recently honoured with the Equality Trailblazer Award at the British Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

HIT director Caroline Stevens said: “To be recognised as a national leader in inclusion and diversity for a small charity based in Hertfordshire is absolutely fantastic.

“We were delighted to be recognised this year at the Inspiring Hertfordshire Awards, but to then be put forward and go on to win the national award has just blown us away. Inclusion is at our core and embedded in every part of the organisation, which was highlighted in our application.”
