Hertfordshire county councillors recently provided funds for those who need support in the local community.

This included:

  • Band equipment for use during training and community parades
  • Church-led Warm Spaces including refreshments and activities
  • Provision of food and toiletries for a food bank
  • A lunch club for frail and vulnerable residents
  • Pre-hospital air ambulance emergency care
  • Public menorah lighting
  • Singing sessions for people with dementia
  • Musical therapy
  • Inclusive football
  • Highway shrub planting
  • Tree planting

Each of the 78 County Councillors are provided with a Locality Budget of £10,000 to spend on projects that support Hertfordshire.

The funding enables councillors to support a wide range of projects that centre around the county council’s four key corporate areas of:

  • Improving the health and well-being of our people
  • Protecting and improving our environment
  • Supporting the sustainable and responsible growth of our county
  • Providing excellent services that are accessible to all

In line with a vision to help make a “cleaner, greener and healthier Hertfordshire”, grants made by county councillors during November reached a value of £16,734.51.
