Residents in Leaford Crescent, North Watford, celebrated their final ‘community get together’ last Sunday after being joined by local Liberal Democrat councillors.
Originally organised by local residents Dean and Caroline, the get togethers have been taking place across the lockdown period to bring together residents who may otherwise be struggling with social isolation.
Residents have organised an ice cream van, takeaway pizza, live music and socially distanced games for families over the last few months.
A gospel choir, DEIJAH, has also been set up, which has been joined by local north Watford residents and supports local charities involved in the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event was attended by Liberal Democrat councillors Dawn Allen Williamson, cllr Amanda Grimston and Deputy Mayor of Watford cllr Karen Collett.
Dawn Allen-Williamson, Callowland councillor said: “I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the residents in Leaford Crescent for organising this, particularly Dean and Caroline.
“I’d also like to thank the ladies with the beautiful voice, Karen, Dionne, Nicole, Rebecca, Lileith, Mandy, Roxy and Acacia for their role in this. It is amazing to see how people in our area have come together during these challenging times to support one another. I’m so proud of our amazing community.”
