COME INSIDE: Pinner residents invited to check out idyllic garden chosen by national scheme

A Pinner resident’s garden has been chosen as part of a national scheme showing off gardens up and down the country.

Prakash Daswani MBE and his wife Joanne have worked tirelessly on the garden which was selected as part of the National Open Garden Scheme.

On June 19, the couple will open their gates to the Pinner community to celebrate the idyllic environment they have worked to create.

Speaking to PinnerNews, Prakash said it has been great to see the garden, which was in the top 12 of Gardeners World’s Garden of the Year competition in 2020, come together.
He said: “I Just feel incredibly pleased that we’ve got this act of creativity that has really worked out.

“We can now enjoy it for years to come and it’s just to lovely to be able to share it with people and just have them sit in the garden and hear the wind blowing through the leaves.
“The nature is all around and it’s lovely.”

Prakash added that the couple are specifically excited to welcome the local community into the garden.

They said: “We love the garden to bits, so many people found such a health benefit from going to local parks over lockdown, especially people in flats that don’t have access to gardens,
“So we look forward to people seeing it, one couple we have shown the garden to said they just felt so utterly at peace and tranquil.”

The garden at 39 Glover Road will be open on Sunday, June 19, between 3.30pm and 7pm with an entry fee of £5.00 or free for children. The cost will go toward one of the charities chosen by the National Open Garden Scheme.
