Rickmansworth Lawn Tennis Club (RLTC) are delighted to be named Club of the Year by the Hertfordshire Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).
Established in 2015, the LTA Tennis Awards comprise 14 categories. This year, RLTC scooped the prestigious Club of the Year award in recognition of its outstanding facilities, the accomplishments of its many teams, and its success in hosting both the Rickmansworth Open and the Herts Closed County Championships each year.
Chairman Liz Mills said: “The club has a very relaxed vibe – during the tournaments, the club kitchen is run by volunteers selling homemade food and cakes. But at the same time, it can get quite competitive during club matches and tournaments, which is something you can tell by our achievements in prestigious tournaments like the Harris Cup.”
With more than 24 teams competing in the Watford & District and Hertfordshire Leagues, RLTC boasts an impressive group of players. This year, the Mixed A Team were crowned champions of the Watford & District League Division 1, while the Men’s Doubles side took home the Harris Cup.
