Hertfordshire Police has asked motorists to avoid the A414 in St Albans whilst officers to a “serious injury” road traffic incident.
Road closures have been put in place in both directions in the Park Street area from Junction 7 of the M1 to allow emergency services to respond anything.
On Facebook a spokesperson for Hertfordshire Police said: “Motorists are asked to avoid the A414 in the Park Street, St Albans area as the road is closed in both directions while emergency services deal with a serious injury road traffic incident.
“Police were called at 1.07pm today, Friday, April 7, to reports of an overturned silver BMW car.
“Road closures will be in place for some time from the M1 Junction 7 and the Park Street roundabout and are causing significant traffic delays on the M1 and the surrounding area.
“Please avoid if you can and thank you for your patience.”
